What is the Soul?

"A Love like Life can never die." – Mavis Pittilla

We are spiritual beings having a human experience. This profound truth reminds us that our essence extends far beyond the physical realm. The Soul, an eternal spark of divine consciousness, is the core of who we are. It resides within the body, acting as a vessel for the Spirit, which dwells within the heart.

What happens to your Soul after you die?

When we transition from this physical life, we are greeted by our spiritual guides, ancestors, and loved ones. In fact, these loving beings begin to gather around us approximately three months before our transition, offering comfort and preparing us for the journey ahead. Before this loving reunion, however, we undergo a life review. This is a profound and compassionate process where we assess our life experiences, examining the ways we may have hurt others, and the ways we were hurt. We reflect on whether we expressed all our "I love you's," whether we sought forgiveness, and most importantly, whether we forgave ourselves for any actions that caused pain. This review is not one of judgment, but of understanding and growth, allowing us to release any lingering burdens and embrace the pure love of Source."

The Afterlife

In the Shamanic understanding, the cosmos is divided into three worlds: the Lower World, the Middle World, and the Upper World.

Soul Contracts and the Five Wounds of the Soul

Our soul's journey is guided by Soul Contracts, agreements made before incarnation to facilitate growth and healing. These contracts often revolve around the Five Wounds of the Soul: abandonment, rejection, betrayal, injustice, and humiliation. Each wound presents an opportunity for profound transformation, though not every soul contract includes the wound of humiliation.

  • Abandonment: This wound stems from feeling deserted or left alone, whether physically or emotionally. It can manifest as a deep fear of being alone and a tendency to cling to relationships.

  • Rejection: This wound arises from a sense of being unaccepted or unworthy. It can lead to self-doubt, isolation, and a constant need for external validation.

  • Betrayal: This wound is born from broken trust and violated expectations. It can create difficulty in forming close relationships and a tendency to control situations.

  • Injustice: This wound stems from feeling treated unfairly or denied one's rights. It can manifest as rigid beliefs, a need for perfection, and difficulty accepting imperfection.

  • Humiliation: This wound, less common than the others, arises from feeling shamed or ridiculed. It can lead to self-deprecating behavior and a fear of being seen or heard.

  • The Lower World:

    • This is where the Akashic Records, the energetic library of our Soul's journey, are accessed.

    • It is also the realm where lost Soul parts can be retrieved.

    • Soul loss occurs when we experience trauma, either in this lifetime or a past one.

    • In moments of intense pain or trauma, a fragment of our soul, the healed, whole part, may separate, leaving behind the wounded aspect.

    • This fragmentation can lead to feelings of incompleteness, disconnection, and emotional distress.

  • The Middle World:

    • This is the realm we inhabit, separated from the Spirit World by a thin veil.

    • It is also home to the fairies, gnomes, and other nature spirits, reminding us of the interconnectedness of all life.

  • The Upper World:

    • This realm consists of five levels, representing our journey after physical death.

    • The first level is that of the Stone People.

    • The second level is that of the Plant People.

    • The third level is that of the Animal People.

    • The fourth level is where you meet your Spirit Guides and Angels.

    • The fifth level is the level you ascend back to Source, "All that is".
